Israeli army intimidates civilians after entering Syrian town

Damascus, Dec 6 (Prensa Latina) Israeli occupation forces stormed the outskirts of the town of Beit Jinn, west of Damascus, the Syrian capital, where they fired shots to intimidate residents and keep them away from the area.

According to local media reports, a unit composed of three tanks and five armored vehicles entered the Bab al-Sad intersection and the road connecting Beit Jinn with the villages of Hadar, Jabatha al-Khashab, and Taranga, in the neighboring province of Quneitra.

Furthermore, Israeli forces established a checkpoint that prevented the passage of pedestrians.

The incursion comes after a recent Israeli attack on Beit Jinn that left 13 civilians dead and dozens wounded. The day before, occupying forces entered the towns of Saida al-Hanout, Bir Ajam, and Bariqa, south of Quneitra.

The Syrian government consistently denounces Israel’s aggressive policies and violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through incursions into the Damascus countryside, Quneitra, and Daraa, as well as direct attacks against civilians.

It also demanded the immediate withdrawal of occupying troops and called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and deter these aggressive practices.
