“Your arguments expose the fraudulent agenda of the US Secretary of State, focused on manipulating public opinion with mendacious pretexts and repeated lies about Cuba, its people, and government,” the Cuban Foreign Minister stated on X.
Through the same platform, Thang said that “Cuba is not a disaster because Cubans are incompetent.” “Cuba is a poor country that has survived more than 60 years of blockade by the richest empire in the world,” he asserted.
They call them incompetent, he argued, “while ignoring that Washington has tried, every decade, to strangle their economy, sabotage their development, and punish any country that trades with them.”
“The miracle is not that Cuba is poor,” he emphasized, and considered it miraculous that “after the Bay of Pigs, the assassination attempts, the terrorism, the sanctions, and the embargoes, Cuba still has doctors, schools, and a state that never knelt or begged the US to allow it to exist.”
If Cuba is destroyed, he said, “what do you call a country that spends billions on wars and still can’t provide its people with free healthcare, affordable housing, or debt-free education?” “I look at the same island and see something different: a small country that refused to sell its sovereignty and still suffers the punishment for the crime of not wanting to be someone else’s property,” the analyst stated.
