According to the note of the decision taken by the head of state, published this Friday by the press office of the Kremlin, more than 190 different ethnic groups coexist in Russia, according to the data of the last population census carried out in the Slavic nation.

It should be noted that, according to the same data, the vast majority of ethnic groups are indigenous.

The Russian Constitution officially enshrines the multi-ethnic character of the State.

Let us recall that the year 2025 had been declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as in gratitude to veterans and participants in the special military operation.
