Russian army makes significant gains in Zaporozhie region

Moscow, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) The Russian army has launched an offensive against Nikolskoye, near Timoshivka in the Zaporozhie region—an area that had been captured the previous day—military expert Andrei Marochko reported.

“Following the capture of Timoshivka, our troops immediately began attacks and preparatory operations for an offensive against the village of Nikolskoye. Concentrated strikes are currently being carried out from the village of Novosoloshino toward Nikolskoye, to the northeast,” the expert stated this Wednesday on his messaging channel.

Marochko also noted that, southeast of Timoshivka, Russian units have begun preparatory operations to dislodge Ukrainian forces entrenched in Nikolskoye.

Ukrainian troops find themselves in a very difficult situation, as our forces are attacking them in Nikolskoye from two directions simultaneously, he declared.

Marochko reported that units from the “East” (Vostok) group of forces continued to move forward deep into enemy defenses, capturing the village of Timoshivka in the Zaporozhie Oblast.

Personnel and equipment belonging to two air-assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a marine brigade were struck in the areas of Kolomiytsy, Podgavrilovka, and Dibrova (in the Dnipropetrovsk province), as well as Novorosivka, Volnyanka, and Barvinovka (in the Zaporozhie region), he specified.

Within the area of responsibility of the “East” group, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 170 personnel. The enemy also lost three armored combat vehicles and two other vehicles. jdt/arm/ocs/gfa
