“It seems he can’t sleep without thinking about Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. Could it be because, despite the hatred he exudes and his desire to do harm with blockades, sanctions and aggressions, these peoples have defeated him time and again with dignity and firmness?” the senior diplomat wrote in his Telegram account.
Gil affirmed that Rubio’s rancor is nothing more than the rage of a frustrated bureaucrat, who cannot bear to see how sovereign nations stand up to him and break his script.
He indicated that the only enemies of humanity are those who, with their machinery of war and abuse, have been sowing chaos and misery in half the world for decades.
“But Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela have shown that they do not bend, that they do not sell out, that they do not give in,” he emphasized.
He stressed that this is something that “the spokesman of the failures and lackeys cannot stand, because they crash again and again against the dignity of the peoples”.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister urged the US Secretary of State to “continue with his sick obsession”.
“Keep barking, we will continue here, standing up, defeating their fantasies as always: with sovereignty, with resistance and with our heads held high,” he remarked.
Rubio, who is touring several Latin American and Caribbean countries, yesterday from Costa Rica described Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela as “enemies of humanity” and blamed them for being responsible for the migratory crisis, a situation that not a few governments attribute to Washington’s discriminatory policies.
