During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump outlined his plans to “take charge of Gaza” and have Palestinians resettled outside the enclave permanently, prompting immediate criticism and international rejection.

According to the Republican president, “taking charge” means that “we will be responsible for dismantling all dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons that are on site, leveling the site and getting rid of the buildings destroyed (by Israel itself with the same weapons provided by Washington).”
