The voluntary activity, headed by Doctor Christina Márquez, consisted of providing comprehensive medical attention to the families of La “”Olla Comun of the Lima municipality of San Juan Lurigancho.

The work, done by the doctors trained in the ethics of solidarity in Cuba, included comprehensive health care to the families in vulnerable conditions.

The doctors provided general medical services, delivered medicines and gave preventive health assessments to the families of the Olla Común, one of the hundreds of mothers’ groups in Lima that alleviate poverty by cooking collectively every day for the whole community.

The visitors also donated food for the communal kitchen and were invited to share a fellowship lunch with the families.
