The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates considered the head of Government’s trip on Sunday to the Israeli settlement a provocation and criticized his statements against the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The Ministry affirmed in a statement that Netanyahu’s comments represent an attempt to consolidate the racist occupation of the West Bank.
The diplomatic institution also denounced “the crimes of genocide, displacement, and annexation” conducted by the neighboring country.
The Foreign Ministry questioned the Israeli authorities’ strategy of providing coverage and encouragement to the most radical segments of the settlers “to commit more attacks on Palestinian citizens, their lands, and property.”
Given this situation, he called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to halt its expansion in the West Bank and allow Palestine full membership in the United Nations.
Ten days ago, the Ministry also condemned visits by Israeli officials to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and cited one by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and another by Netanyahu with US House Speaker Mike Johnson.
