During an emergency session of Parliament convened to analyze the genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza Strip, Fidan denounced that Tel Aviv has been committing crimes against humanity for two years in full view of the international community.
This brutality is one of the darkest pages in human history, the foreign minister emphasized, while rejecting attempts to displace the Palestinian population of Gaza.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also remembered the measures adopted by his country against Israel, including the total suspension of bilateral trade since last May.
In this regard, he specified that no Israeli aircraft may use Turkish airspace, and the country’s ports are closed to vessels flying the Israeli flag.
The restrictions, which began with a 30 percent reduction in trade following the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, led to the suspension of exports of more than a thousand products and culminated in a complete halt to operations on May 2, 2024.
The world must understand that the Palestinian resistance not only challenges Israel, but also represents the global struggle of peoples against injustice, Fidan concluded.
