At least 11 people have died in recent hours in the coastal enclave as a result of military incursions, the official Wafa news agency reported.
According to the source, since last night the IDF began dropping “heavy smoke bombs” on the city, especially in its western part, causing the smell of gunpowder to spread through shops, shelters, and homes, causing nausea among citizens.
It noted that warplanes also launched several violent attacks against the Sabra neighborhood and drones against Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, while soldiers deployed in Zeitoun area.
Wafa reported that the military continued the demolition of buildings in Jabalia al-Nazla using booby-trapped robots.
This week, Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal revealed that since the start of the new campaign on August 6, the IDF has destroyed more than 1,500 buildings in Zeitoun alone.
Meanwhile, the Israeli news website Walla reported that some 10,000 Palestinians fled the city in the last 24 hours.
