The Cuban president’s visit to attend the ceremony on Tuesday for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam National Day will strengthen the special relations between the two countries, the Nhan Dan (People’s Daily) newspaper reported.
An article published by this media outlet stated that the visit offers the opportunity to debate concrete measures to expand bilateral ties in the economy, trade, and investment.
It will also be possible to improve the effectiveness of joint mechanisms, such as agreements between Party branches and the Intergovernmental Committee, and address international issues of mutual interest.
Upon welcoming the Cuban guests on such an important occasion, Vietnam reaffirms its consistent policy of constantly consolidating traditional solidarity, special friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and firm support for the Caribbean island, the newspaper emphasized.
The Cuban president’s visit will contribute to enhancing Vietnam’s position and prestige, reaffirming its foreign policy of independence, self-determination, peace, cooperation, and development.
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA), in turn, considered that this visit shows, once again, that solidarity between the two peoples remains a guiding light for cooperation and development, benefiting each nation.
