The event, this year held under the slogan “Enough of US Blockade against Cuba!”, takes place at the building of the Sole Union of Education Workers in the Cauca Valley (SUTEV).
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the forum “Updating on the Tightening of the US Blockade against Cuba and Continental Solidarity in response.”
Norberto Galiotti, general coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network of Solidarity with Cuba and the Just Causes, and Jhonny Garcia, national coordinator of the Venezuela-Cuba Friendship and Solidarity Movement, are the panelists at this event.
Four working groups will also be in session with topics, including Solidarity Youth, Effective Solidarity with Cuba, Counter-Hegemonic and Popular Communication against the US Blockade and Imperialist Interventionism, and Strengthening and Growth of the Colombia-Cuba Solidarity Movement.
During the opening ceremony on Friday, Casa Caribe member Juan Coneo stated that Cuba is a beacon of dignity for the Caribbean region, Latin America, and even the world.
Despite the obstacles brought about by the blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years and the unilateral inclusion of countries supposedly sponsoring terrorism on the island, he emphasized how Cuba is a benchmark in dignity that doesn’t give away what it has left over, but rather shares what it has.
