The event, which included 13 thematic forums, 81 specialized seminars, and 75 trade promotion sessions, attracted nearly 2,000 companies in person and on-line participation of some 5,600 ones.

Zhu Guangyao, an official from the Ministry of Commerce, stated that more than 60 countries and 20 international organizations set up pavilions showcasing 190 developments in key sectors.

He also emphasized that the next step will be to boost innovation in services trade and promote digital trade reform. “We will foster the integration of services with high-end manufacturing and modern agriculture,” he said.

For his part, Zhang Huayu, deputy director of the Beijing Trade Office, highlighted the 45 cultural and trade activities organized at iconic locations.

“Eleven trade inspection routes were promoted, and three thousand projects were posted on the digital platform,” he noted.

The fair, with the theme “Boosting Digital Intelligence, Renewing Trade in Services,” was held from September 10 to 14.
