The coastal enclave’s Ministry of Health announced in a statement that specialists in these centers are working under exceptionally difficult circumstances, amid an almost total shortage of essential medicines and life-saving supplies.

The severe shortage of blood units and blood components threatens the lives of hundreds of wounded requiring immediate surgery and transfusions, he stressed.

The bombardments and the blockade on the entry of medical supplies and fuel have exacerbated the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip, where more than two million Palestinians live, he warned.

In another statement, the ministry stressed that patients and the wounded are living in what it described as a “triangle of terror,” formed by hunger, bombardment and lack of medical care.
