Pakistan and Kazakhstan with initiatives to boost trade

Islamabad, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) Pakistan and Kazakhstan agreed to strengthen connectivity and trade cooperation by initiating direct flights, accelerated business visa benefits and holding joint business forums.

The announcement follows a meeting between Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin and Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, according to The Nation.

The Pakistani minister announced that two-year visas will be granted to Kazakhstan’s business community within 24 hours of arrival in Pakistan.

In addition, Islamabad is considering a proposal to issue five-year multiple-entry visas to members of the Kazakh Chamber of Commerce, which they hope will facilitate business travel between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin welcomed the idea of organizing a Business Forum in Lahore and agreed to hold joint business meetings in major Pakistani cities.

He confirmed that as in Karachi, a business forum will also be held in Lahore to further boost bilateral business relations.

The Kazakh diplomat also expressed his country’s desire to develop a trade corridor with Pakistan using its own resources.

He said that various routes, including Afghanistan, China and Iran, are being explored to make this initiative feasible.
