Havana, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity and cooperation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in the context of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Through the social media platform X, the Minister of Foreign Affairs remembered that a commemorative event took place the day before for that event and the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, led by President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

On the occasion, the Minister noted that “these commemorations are an expression of the historic sentiments of friendship, solidarity, mutual support, and cooperation that unite us,” and a “reflection of the path taken in the common effort of our nations to preserve the essential historical memory and project our relations into the future.”

The highest representative of Cuban diplomacy also reaffirmed “full confidence that, under the leadership of our Parties, we will continue to strengthen the history and tradition of brotherhood and solidarity that unites us, and we will expand collaboration for the benefit of our peoples.”

For his part, the Asian country’s ambassador, Han Su Chol, recalled that “on August 29, 1960, our country established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cuba with the purpose of developing bilateral relations of friendship that encompass all spheres.”

Thanks to that day, he said, the proud history between our two countries and parties has been able to advance dynamically for 65 years, the diplomat asserted, recalling that these friendly relations “were established by the Great Leader, Comrade Kim Il Sung, and Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz.”

Cuban-North Korean ties were consolidated and developed by Comrade Kim Jong Il and Comrade Raul Castro Ruz, and continue to be strengthened today by Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and Comrade Diaz-Canel, the diplomat emphasized.
