Upon opening the event at the Addis Ababa International Conference Center, Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh stressed that the exhibition is a crucial platform for government officials, investors, researchers, and industry players to exchange ideas, explore partnerships, and promote innovation.
Tiruneh noted that, despite Ethiopia’s vast mineral resource reserves, both above and below ground, the country has not been able to exploit this wealth fully.
The deputy prime minister specified that the ongoing reforms and development initiatives are aimed at correcting past shortcomings and ensuring that the sector contributes significantly to national growth.
He underscored the government’s strong commitment to transforming mining into one of the five key pillars of the national economy.
MINTEX 2025 is taking place in Ethiopia from November 13 to 16 to showcase to the world its latest products, innovations, mining solutions, and related technologies.
