According to the agency, Thursday will bring variable weather due to the arrival of an upper-level ridge that will cause cloud cover in some areas, but temperatures will rise significantly starting Friday.
In Santiago Metropolitan Region, where the capital is located, and in the neighboring O’Higgins Region, temperatures will reach 31 degrees Celsius, while in some areas of Aysen, Biobio, and La Araucania, they will reach up to 32 degrees.
The forecast for Saturday is even higher, with temperatures reaching up to 36 degrees in the southern region, 34 in Biobio, and 33 in the city of Santiago.
These temperatures, with some minor variations, will persist through Sunday, the DMC pointed out.
Given this situation, authorities urged the citizens to take appropriate precautions, including avoiding direct sun exposure and, if going outside is essential, wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing with a wide-brimmed hat.
Young children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses should stay in the shade and well-hydrated.
