Cuban farmers reaffirm defense of national sovereignty

Havana, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) The National Association of Cuban Farmers (ANAP) expressed its rejection of the executive order signed by US President Donald Trump, which it described as a new attempt to attack and obstruct the development of the Cuban people.

In an official statement, the farmers’ organization reiterated its members’ unwavering commitment to the Revolution and the defense of national sovereignty, asserting that “no external measure will be able to break the will of those of us who work the land every day to guarantee food for the people.”

The ANAP reaffirmed that the Cuban peasantry “will remain united, firm, and loyal to the principles of social justice and solidarity” that have guided the revolutionary process, and that in the face of pressure and threats, “we will respond with more production, more organization, and more unity.”

The document emphasized that the efforts of the peasantry “are an essential part of building a prosperous and independent future for Cuba,” and sent a clear message to what it called “the empire and its lackeys.”
