Haddadi expressed this remark on her X profile, after meeting on Monday with Cuban Ambassador to the AU, Lucas Domingo Hernandez, and Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, Meylin Suarez Alvarez, at the headquarters of the continental organization.
The post underscored, “Our enriching and progressive exchange reaffirmed the historic ties between Africa and Cuba and explored concrete ways to deepen cooperation in health, education, science and innovation, culture, and multilateral diplomacy for the common benefit of our peoples.”
According to information sent to Prensa Latina by the Cuban Embassy, the meeting reaffirmed the excellent state of relations between Cuba and Africa, as well as the mutual willingness to continue deepening cooperation and political dialogue.
The AUC deputy chairperson ratified her confidence and solidarity with Havana and highlighted the historical and current value of the ties between the Caribbean island and the African continent.
Both sides agreed on the importance of further strengthening the historical bonds of friendship and solidarity between Cuba and Africa, based on mutual respect, genuine cooperation, and the shared memory of the struggle for independence and self-determination of peoples.
