Russia boosts cooperation and agenda at Havana Book Fair

Havana, Feb 5 (Prensa Latina) The Havana International Book Fair stands as a cultural space of exceptional importance, whose 34th edition will highlight the cooperation between Cuba and the Russian Federation, as a Guest of Honor.

Around 1,500 titles, including classics and contemporary books, along with other artistic expressions such as dance, film, and music, make up the offering from the Eurasian nation at this fair, to be held from February 12 to 22 at the Morro-Cabana Historical Military Park in this capital.

“For us, it’s an honor to participate in this fair, which allows us to continue developing ties in the cultural and literary spheres in a very dynamic way,” Russian Ambassador to Cuba, Viktor Koronelli, told Prensa Latina in an exclusive interview.

Koronelli noted that both nations are united by bonds of friendship and solidarity that have stood the test of time, and that this event will undoubtedly ease new cooperation projects in the publishing sector.

The ambassador stated that holding this book fair in the country is always an opportunity to showcase the extraordinary diversity of both national and international literature, and Russia, as a Guest of Honor, has much to offer.

The 34th Havana International Book Fair will be dedicated to the 100th birthday of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, and will also pay tribute to Cuban writer Marilyn Bobes and Jose Bell Lara, PhD in Philosophical Sciences and Master in Caribbean Social Development.
