The cold front moved from north to south, causing temperature drops of between six and 12 degrees in northeastern regions, eastern Inner Mongolia, northern China, and Shandong.
Some areas of southeastern Jilin, eastern Liaoning, and northeastern Hebei also experienced temperature drops.
The meteorological service indicated that most of southern China will experience temperature drops of between six and 10 degrees today and tomorrow.
It stated that today the most intense cooling will be concentrated in eastern Jilin, Shandong, Henan, northern Hubei, and Jiangsu.
It specified that tomorrow the core of the sharp temperature drop will move toward western Fujian, southern Jiangxi, and northern Guangdong.
Following the drop in temperatures, provinces such as Shanxi, Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei will experience sub-zero highs.
Other areas, including Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Zhejiang, will see single-digit highs.
The agency indicated that, after this episode, temperatures will rise rapidly starting February 9th across much of central and eastern China.
