Turkiye’s stability is a priority, Erdogan says

Ankara, Feb 11 (Prensa Latina) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that his country's greatest wish is for Syria to achieve stability and peace, while dismissing any expansionist intentions in the region.

In his address to the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Ankara, the president emphasized that his country is not seeking to expand its influence or restructure other states. “Our greatest wish is for Syria to enjoy stability and peace, and for our Syrian brothers and sisters to build their future together,” he said.

Erdogan noted that the roadmap to lasting peace in Syria has become clearer and called on all parties to avoid repeating past mistakes or introducing extremist demands that could hinder the political process.

He also emphasized the human cost of the conflict, stating that “every drop of blood spilled breaks our hearts, whether Arab, Turkmen, Kurdish, or Alawite,” and maintained that the loss of any life on Syrian soil represents a shared loss.

The Turkish head of State believes the time has come to dedicate Syria’s resources and natural wealth to the well-being of its entire population, instead of using them for activities that prolong the conflict.

These statements come in a regional context marked by diplomatic efforts aimed at stabilizing the Arab country after 14 years of war.
