Azerbaijan sends more humanitarian aid to Iran

Baku, March 18 (Prensa Latina) Azerbaijan delivered an additional 82 tons of humanitarian aid to Iran amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East, the APA news agency reported.

“This Wednesday, March 18, 2026, another shipment of humanitarian aid was sent to Iran to meet the current needs of our neighboring and friendly Iranian people.

The humanitarian aid sent to Iran includes various food products, medicines, and medical supplies, totaling 82 tons,” the agency stated.

The report specified that 76 tons are food; four tons are medicines; and two tons are medical supplies.

All the supplies are being transported in five trucks, it added.

On March 11, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations reported having delivered more than 25 tons of humanitarian aid.

The delivery takes place within the context of commitments made during the March 8 telephone conversation between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, aimed at supporting the Iranian people amidst the crisis.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a coordinated campaign of attacks against Iran to cripple its nuclear program, reduce its military capabilities, and pave the way for a popular uprising to overthrow the ayatollahs’ government.

Iran is responding to the attacks with retaliatory strikes against US and Israeli interests throughout the Middle East.
