“A US military aggression against Cuba would lead to a true humanitarian catastrophe, a bloodbath. Cuban and American citizens would lose their lives, a scenario only those politicians who don’t send their children and relatives to wars are willing to risk,” he wrote on social media.
Rodriguez stressed that there is no reason or pretext for a superpower to attack a small island that poses no threat, simply because a few aspire to change its political system or government.
Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero also addressed the issue, stating that a possible aggression would have incalculable consequences.
“Cuba is not a threat. Cuba is a country of solidarity, of peace, ready to defend its sovereignty,” he reiterated.
