US attacks Iran, Tehran responds against bases in Kuwait and Bahrain

Tehran, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) The United States launched new strikes on military targets in Iran, while Tehran responded with bombings against US facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, amid a growing regional escalation.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) informed that its forces attacked coastal defense bases and cruise missile sites on Iran’s Greater Tunb island during a 90-minute operation.

IRNA, in response, announced that the Iranian Army attacked radar systems, a Patriot air defense battery, and fuel storage facilities at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

The news agency stated that US military facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain were also hit.

The Kuwaiti Army announced that its air defense systems intercepted several drone attacks, in what it described as Iranian aggression.

CENTCOM announced a series of nighttime strikes on Iranian territory, aimed at reducing Tehran’s ability to threaten merchant ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
