Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian affirmed that the progress achieved through negotiations “has been hard-won” and underscored that a resumption of hostilities benefits no one.

Lin noted that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the countries in the region must be respected and protected.

The spokesperson also urged all parties involved to remain calm, exercise restraint, cease hostile actions, and resume contacts through political and diplomatic channels to resolve differences.

The official reiterated that China will continue to promote dialogue and peace in accordance with the four-point proposal put forward by President Xi Jinping, to reduce tensions and restore regional stability.

Lin’s remarks came in response to questions about the increased US military presence in the Middle East and the possibility of a further escalation of the conflict with Iran.
