This was highlighted by Cubainformacion from the Spanish Basque Country, where numerous posters decorate the “Argia eta Indarra Kubarentzat. Contra el Bloqueo, Energia para Cuba” (Energy and Strength for Cuba. Against the Blockade, Energy for Cuba) events, visible throughout the streets of the Biscayan capital and in the 27 txosnas (booths) that make up the Bilboko Konpartsak Federation.
The 27 txosnas display Cuban flags and posters related to the conflict, and make visible the bank account numbers to which donations can be made during Semana Grande, which will run until August 30.
“Blokeo Genozida Gelditu” (Stop the Genocidal Blockade) is the slogan of these actions, led by the comparsas (carnival groups) of Bilbao, grassroots groups dedicated to creating and experiencing the festivities in the Basque city.
The initiative is promoted by Euskadi-Cuba, Euskal Herria-Kuba Ekimena, the internationalist platform Hegoak, and the Cuban emigre associations Sierra Maestra-Euskadi and Desembarco del Granma.
