Two planes departed from Chengdu in southwest China’s Sichuan bound for Nepal with relief supplies, including tents, blankets, sleeping bags, and emergency kits.

Chinese authorities announced that the aid will reach at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the nation’s contributions to the recovery efforts.

Chinese news agency CCTV reported that the supplies will be transported to the affected areas to help ensure basic livelihoods and emergency medical needs for the affected residents. Four specialists will accompany the aid to provide logistical support.

To date, ongoing landslides have caused widespread damage to infrastructure in both Nepal and China.
