“Nicaragua Exporta” strengthens trade ties

Managua, Oct. 16 (Prensa Latina) The second edition of the "Nicaragua Exporta 2026" platform kicked off with the participation of over 300 national and international delegates.

The event aims to strengthen trade ties and facilitate connections between Nicaraguan companies and international buyers.

During the opening session, Presidential Advisor for Investment and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega highlighted the growth of this edition and the importance of diversifying the destinations for Nicaraguan exports.

In this regard, he advocated for strengthening trade relations with the United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the European Union, as well as expanding exchange opportunities with Russia and China.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Development, Industry, and Commerce, Erwin Ramirez, reported that Nicaragua ended 2025 with exports totaling approximately $8.7 billion.

He noted that from January to September 2026, foreign sales reached $7.362 billion, representing a 10.4 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.

As part of the forum, which concludes tomorrow, the National Exporter Award is set to be presented—a recognition designed to highlight business efforts regarding production, quality, and market diversification.
