Measures against Covid-19 strengthened in Havana
Havana, May 7 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Roberto Morales stressed that the strengthening of measures against Covid-19 should lead to better results for the country, referring to new provisions for its confrontation, as revealed by the national press.
The new plan, designed by the Provincial Defense Council of Havana, aims to increase actions to control and stop the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 in the 15 municipalities, as reported on Thursday.
For this, more restrictions on social isolation will be adopted, and epidemiological surveillance and the protection of Public Health workers will be increased, while medical assistance will be rearranged.
The measures to be taken provide for the strengthening of the control of social assistance units and work centers, as well as the medical treatment of vulnerable people, and the expansion of the social communication campaign on the dangers of the disease.
Morales explained that the new actions will reinforce the existing ones, but they will be essential to identify asymptomatic undiagnosed cases, since the active investigation will be stressed.
The supply of the homeopathic medicine PrevengHo-vir will also be extended to all inhabitants of Havana, and nasal interferon will be supplied to Health personnel exposed to greater risk.
The decision also includes the supply of Biomodulin T to increase the body's defenses to people over 60 years old in psychiatric hospitals and psycho-pedagogical medical centers, already administered in nursing homes and grandparents' homes.
The president of the Provincial Defense Council of Havana, Luis Antonio Torres, highlighted the new package of measures, which will help cut contagions, especially in the most affected localities, which will enter a period of social isolation with stricter actions to comply with.
