Iran aims to obtain Covid-19 vaccine by 2021
Tehran, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) Iranian Scientist Hosein Vatanpour has announced that the knowledge business community in Iran plans to obtain a vaccine against Covid-19 before the end of the Persian year (March 20th, 2021).
According to Vatanpour, director general of the Office of Research and Development of Technology, one of those companies will offer their achievements in said line by the end of the time frame.
A vaccine against the human papilloma virus and another against seasonal flu are also in the projects to reach the market on the same date.
According to the Iranian scientist, the country has a capability similar to the most advanced ones, and so it can compete in the sector.
As he said, three knowledge-based companies are putting the finishing touches on the production of the vaccine against human papillomavirus.
Iran is suffering one of the largest outbreaks of Covid-19 in the world, with a cumulative of 222,669 people that contracted the disease since last February, and has a balance of over 10,000 deaths.
