SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus reaches all Argentina's provinces
Buenos Aires, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) The Argentine province of Catamarca, the only one of the 24 districts that had managed to contain SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus since the first outbreak in the country, reported its first Covid-19 case after 105 days of quarantine.
The epicenter of the novel coronavirus is in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), with 98 percent of Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, the first Covid-19 patient in Catamarca province is under medical control, so there is no longer any national territory that has managed to escape from the pandemic, even in distant places such as the Falkland Islands, a territory in dispute with the United Kingdom.
The Governor of Catamarca, Raal Jalil, confirmed the first Covid-19 case through social networks and specified that the person was isolated upon entering the capital.
'After 105 days without infection, we have detected the first Covid-19 case in Catamarca. We have to take care of each other responsibly,' warned the governor.
Argentina is approaching almost 70,000 infected since the first outbreak of the pandemic in March, which has caused so far 403 deaths.
