Russia and Belarus to hold joint Slavic Brotherhood-2020 drills
Moscow, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) Russia and Belarus will hold the Slavic Brotherhood-2020 tactic maneuvers at the Brest military polygon from September 14 to 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday, according to local television.
The military drills will involve 300 Russian soldiers and 70 combat pieces of equipment. The troops from the two countries will practice the solution of joint tactic tasks, the Ministry explained.
The war games will be held according to an agreement reached in October 2019, and is part of international activities planned by the Ministry of Defense, which has participated in those maneuvers since 2015.
On this occasion, Serbia will be absent from the drills, after it said on September 9 that it would abstain from participating in any military maneuvers abroad for six months, amid pressure by the European Union to give up to the drills with Belarus.
Slavic Brotherhood was held in Serbia last year and in Russia in 2018, according to local media.
