Venezuela creates technological scientific council for defense
Caracas, Sep 25 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro ordered on Friday the immediate creation of the scientific and technological council of the military complex to guarantee self-sufficiency in the national effort to defend sovereignty.
On intervening in the commemorative event for the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (CEOFANB), the president insisted on the importance of articulating industry and technology based on the country's defensive capacity in the face of constant threats of aggression.
Maduro described the constitution of CEOFANB in 2005 as a momentous time in the application of its own methods for the defense of the territorial integrity of Venezuela.
In that sense, the head of State highlighted the legacy of the revolutionary leader Hugo Chavez (1954-2013) in the conception of the new tactical and strategic scheme of the Venezuelan military doctrine.
Likewise, Maduro extended his recognition to the military institution for assuming 'with absolute awareness, will, collective cohesion and exemplary discipline' the deployment of a new concept for defense.
The head of the Strategic Operational Command, Remigio Ceballos, condemned the foreign interference in the country's political processes and the multidimensional aggressions directed at all areas of national security, with the purpose of destabilizing and fragmenting the State.
