Cuban president salutes 75th anniversary of United Nations
Havana, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel saluted the United Nations Day on Saturday, on the 75th anniversary of the coming into force of the UN Charter.
On his Twitter account, the head of State noted the importance of that international organization, which he described as indispensable.
'So is its necessary reform and democratization. When multilateralism is at risk, so is peace,' the president wrote.
Previously, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres had said that the foundational mission of the United Nations is more critical today than ever.
The United Nations Day marks the anniversary of the coming into force of the UN Charter, which was signed on June 26, 1945, in San Francisco, the United States.
