Most aggressive strain causing Covid-19 spread in Egypt
27 de noviembre de 2020, 10:44Cairo, Nov 27 (Prensa Latina) A more aggressive and contagious strain of SARS-CoV-2, causing Covid-19, spreads among Egyptians, Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el-Din said on Friday.
According to Tag el-Din, individuals who are infected with the virus do not show any symptoms for 14 days, a period in which they could cause many infections to others.
After the daily infection rate is below 150 cases, more than 300 infections have been reported daily in Egypt since early November, due to the cold weather.
According to official data, some 114,000 people have been infected with the virus from the disease was detected in February to date, and nearly 6,500 have died.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi urged citizens to take extreme cares in this stage and announced that the route to follow to face the pandemic will depend on their behavior when complying with preventive measures such as wearing facemasks in all public places.
