More patients recover from Covid-19 in Cuba
Havana, Nov 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's national director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported 35 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday and 259 medical discharges during the week.
At a press briefing, Dr. Duran said that of 35 new cases, 28 are nationals and seven are foreigners.
Among them, 33 were asymptomatic and 28 were infected abroad, the expert added.
Since March, 930 children have suffered from Covid-19, including 870 who have already recovered. He regretted that 39 infants were infected by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
At present, two people remain in a serious condition in intensive care units.
Since March to date, 8,110 people have tested positive for the new coronavirus in Cuba: 7,875 are Cubans and 235 are foreigners, Dr. Duran pointed out.
The expert highglighted the number of imported cases, which has tripled.
He noted that Cuba has a good rhythm in carrying out tests to detect the new coronavirus, at a rate of 9,000 test a day, and praised medical practices, care and drugs that have made Cuba keep the pandemic under control.
The death toll rose to 133, after one death was reported this week.
