Rabbis call on Israel to provide Covid-19 vaccines to Palestinians

Experts warned that the territories under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) are on the verge of a health disaster due to the explosion of contagion, the limited resources available to deal with it and the fragility of the already overburdened hospital system.
From the beginning of the first outbreak in March to date, 1,663 people have died in Gaza and the West Bank, out of more than 162,000 contaminated.
In both places, the state of emergency is in force, which allowed the isolation of localities with a complex epidemiological situation, the reinstatement of complete confinement on Fridays and Saturdays, and curfews at night, from Sunday to Thursday.
Leaders of the Arab people blame the Zionist government for the deterioration of living conditions and the health crisis in the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from a prolonged siege.
In addition, the PNA is demanding the release of some four thousand Palestinian prisoners, with priority for the elderly and others with chronic illnesses, who remain in Israeli prisons in the middle of the pandemic without the indispensable preventive measures.

Tel Aviv, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) Some 200 rabbis have demanded from the Israeli government to protect the Palestinian population of the blockaded Gaza Strip and the West Bank with vaccines against Covid-19, as they are hardly hit by a second wave of the pandemic.
The group stressed that providing the antidote to residents in both Israel-controlled areas is a moral imperative, The Jerusalem Post reported.
