Protests in Brazil against 400,000 Covid-19 deaths
Brasilia, Apr 30 (Prensa Latina) The Rio de Paz non-governmental organization (NGO) will spread 400 bags at the famous Copacabana beach, Rio de Janeiro, in memory of more than 400,000 Covid-19 deaths.
In the call entitled Who are the perpetrators and the accomplices?, the NGO, affiliated with the UN Department of Public Information, pointed out that the demonstration also condemns the way in which Brazil´s federal government deals with the serious health crisis caused for the pandemic.
Organizers enlightened on Twitter that the so-called ¨400 death bags¨ will be assembled with the reproduction of the national flag.
Every hour, they said, protesters will make a performance representing the burial of those whose lives would have been preserved whether the Brazilian public powers had not acted carelessly and incompetently.
'Federal government committed unjustifiable offenses that cost thousands of lives. It was negligent with the vaccine acquisition process, minimized the severity of the pandemic and did not encourage to take restrictive measures,' Antonio Carlos Costa, Río de Paz president, said.
He added that Bolsonaro´s administration also 'promoted early coronavirus treatment without proven scientific evidence, it did not coordinate the battle against the pandemic nationwide, and handed over the management of the Ministry of Health to non-specialized managers.'
