Evo Morales demands US to put an end to the blockade against Cuba

La Paz, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's former president and leader of the Movement Towards Socialism, Evo Morales, on Thursday demanded the US government to put an end to the blockade against Cuba, which he described as criminal and inhumane.

On his Twitter profile @evoespueblo, the former head of State (2006-2019) urged the cessation of the US measure for ‘being illegal, in violation of International Law’ and because ‘it becomes a genocide during the Covid-19 pandemic.’

In previous messages, Morales highlighted the legacy of Fidel Castro as the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, as well as the solidarity that characterizes the relations of that country with the peoples of the world, despite the aftermaths of US actions.

The latest request of the Bolivian leader joins the recent demonstrations, through social networks, of support for Cuba and repudiation of the White House policy.

Organizations and citizens from over 60 countries of the five continents called for various activities past Saturday and Sunday to urge the new US administration of Joe Biden to put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
