¨The price of sugar is much lower in India as compared to Pakistan, so we have decided to reopen sugar trade with the neighboring country for up to 5 million tons for the private sector,¨ the Daily Times newspaper reported.

On allowing import of cotton from India, Azhar said that it will meet domestic requirements at reasonable rates.

He also said that cotton has high demand in Pakistan because Pakistan´s textile exports had increased but last year´s cotton crop was not good.
