ALBA-TCP to debate on gender issues

Caracas, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) will debate Wednesday on gender matters and women´s challenges in present circumstances.

The online meeting with senior officials of ALBA-TCP´s Women’s Affairs and Gender will be held at 2:00 p.m. (local time), with the aim of assessing progress and challenges in the construction of a more just, egalitarian society.

Participants will also debate on present challenges and women´s situation, one of the sectors most hit by the health crisis, isolation and other factors that have led to increased gender violence and femicides.

ALBA-TCP, amid global health crisis, has recently held several online meetings with health, agriculture and other important authorities, in order to draw up regional strategies to face the Covid-19 challenges. ef/pll/mem/ycv
