The meeting was attended by CEOs of Alphabet, AT&T, Dell, HP, Intel, General Motors, Ford and Stellantis, and also by representatives of Samsung´s Semiconductor (chip) Manufacturing Company and Taiwan´s Semiconductors Manufacturing Company, among others.

According to Biden, these US firms are currently facing up some infrastructural problems due to the lack of chips from Asian manufacturing companies.

Biden, on the other hand, referred to the US objective to remain as a world leader, and stated his government is putting money on different areas.

On Monday, White House Spokeswoman Jen Psaki stressed in her daily press conference that Biden´s administration is in dialogue with all sectors to seek short and long-term solutions. She also recalled that the administration also asked Congress for $50bn investments for semiconductor manufacturing in order to increase US producers´ competitiveness.
