In memory of these people dead, we must continue moving forward to guarantee that everyone, everywhere, can have access urgently to needed vaccines and treatments. United and in solidarity is the only way this pandemic be overcome, Guterres tweeted.

Three million deaths would be the equivalent of losing the entire population in Berlin, Chicago or Taipei, The New York Times reported.

And as the United States and other rich nations race to vaccinate their populations, new hot spots have emerged in parts of Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

On the other hand, the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed great concern about the increased coronavirus infection rate.

According to WHO´s Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the highest infection rate recorded since the beginning of the pandemic is drawing near due to increased cases in many areas of the planet.

WHO announced that it will support the transfer of anti-Covid-19 vaccine technology to developing nations in order to contribute to faster and more equitable access to immunizers.
