If Washington is committed to defusing present difficulties, so then release Venezuela’s resources held hostage in international banking and also lift its criminal sanctions that have been damaging all Venezuelans amid a terrible global pandemic,’ Jorge Arreaza tweeted.

Arreaza´s statements came after Acting Assistant Secretary for the US Department of State´s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA) Julie Chung claimed her country is deeply committed to easing Venezuelans´ difficulties.

On Monday, President Nicolás Maduro held a meeting with the Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) David Beasley, in which they signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen food assistance plans and protection for the Venezuelan people.

After the agreement, Julie Chung said the United States is willing to collaborate, when it is essentially the US blockade and its allies that have led Venezuela to a severe food crisis, local the authorities condemned.
