Szijjarto is officially visiting Lebanon and issued those remarks after he met with former Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, head of the Christian Free Patriotic Movement party.

Budapest will not accept those sanctions against Lebanese Christian politicians, that is, those who follow President Michel Aoun, the Aounists, the diplomat said.

At the request of France, the EU analyzes how it can put pressure on those who block the formation of the government in Lebanon.

Bassil said that the EU could help if it makes decisions against people and entities guilty of corruption, money laundering and abusive use of public funds.
