Paraguayan doctors criticize vaccination agains Covid-19

Asuncion, May 13 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Medical Union of Paraguay, Rossana Gonzalez, denounced the low number of Covid-19 vaccines that have arrived in the country so far and announced a protest for Friday.

‘We need the immunity of a large part of the population, we do not have the vaccines and there is also a resistance by the population to be immunized, because the vaccination centers were empty last week,’ the leader of the union denounced on 650 AM radio station.

Several doctors have lost their lives due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and those deaths could have been prevented with vaccines in large quantities, since if so, the process would now be massive, Gonzalez said.

The deficiencies in hospitals continue, such as the lack of medicines and equipment out of order such as tomographs, said the expert, who urged citizens not to lower their guard, pay attention to hand washing, the use of face masks and physical distancing.

Nobody can get used to the crisis, we have to look for answers, for which the doctors will demand an hourly workload on the streets on Friday, support for treatment and patient care and other demands, Gonzalez said.
