Cuba reaffirms willingness to strengthen ties with Caribbean States

Havana, May 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has reaffirmed his Government's will to strengthen ties with the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), in a dialogue with ACS Secretary-General Rodolfo Sabonge.

On Twitter, Bruno Rodríguez termed the phone conversation as fraternal, where both leaders discussed about the AEC regional challenges and cooperation.

‘I reaffirmed Cuba´s will to strengthen our historic ties with ACS,’ Rodríguez live-tweeted.

ACS, founded in 1994, is a regional body that strives to strengthen Caribbean countries, in order to create a common economic setting and to promote its members´ sustainable development.

Among other purposes, ACS fosters consultation, cooperation and agreed action among all Caribbean nations.

ACS is made up of 25 member states, including Cuba, and seven associate members.
