Presidents of Pakistan and China vow to deepen cooperation

Islamabad, May 21 (Prensa Latina) Pakistan's President Arif Alvi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping pledged to deepen cooperation and achieve high development of the Economic Corridor between the two countries, it was reported on Friday.

This was expressed in letters of congratulation exchanged by the two leaders on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, Radio Pakistan reported.

The Chinese president said in his letter that the two nations are strategic cooperation partners that have stood firm to each other on issues of fundamental interests and great concerns.

The mutual trust and friendship between the two countries have gone through the test of 70 years of international changes and remains rock-solid, Xi stated.

The construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he stressed, achieved remarkable results, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries, as well as providing a strong boost to regional prosperity.

Meanwhile, President Arif Alvi reaffirmed the commitment to further elevate Pakistan-China friendship to new heights and build a closer community of shared future. Alvi said friendship between the two countries is guarantor of peace in the region.
